WE LOVE OUR RESCUED DOGS!!! So we do all we can to repair their broken hearts, spay/neuter, vaccinate, hw test, groom , get their bodies proper medical care and give them time to heal from any ills… We allow each to be part of an indoor family home filled with love and find each one the best possible home in order to secure a bright future for each one.
All our dogs go to Vermont (or nearby) foster homes first where they are given a chance to decompress from their stressful trip north, past life and learn how to be part of a loving family. Our fosters are the backbone of our rescue, these devoted volunteers care for the pets like family, work on house manners, potty training and are able to get a sense of what each pet needs and what makes each pet happy. This allows us to better know our pets and best match pet with applicant most suited for each.
Most of our Adoptable pets are saved from high kill southern shelters whom have no veterinarian on staff & provide no vetting, Because we LOVE these fur-kids we want best for them therefore it is our policy that all our dogs receive spay/neuter, vaccinations, lab work, treatment for intestinal parasites , bordatella, Heart-worm test and treatment if positive, Bathing/grooming, boarding and transportation which is all paid for with adoption fee’s and donations
Because we love the pets that have come into our care, we do all we can to give them a fresh new wonderful life and therefore we have an adoption process in place to protect them going forward, this process includes (but is not limited to) an approved application, home visit, reference verification, and adoption fee paid when application is approved.
We do not have a building where people can visit to”meet the dog, All “meet and greets” are scheduled for applicants once applications and suitability has been verified.
We try to match pet’s needs with the application best suited for it. Time is precious to a death row dog, So, please read dogs description carefully, most all answers to your questions can be found there. Don’t miss out on the dog your interested on by delaying your application submission by emailing back and forth with questions already covered online, Please if you are interested, we recommend you immediately download, complete adoption application, save it as a PDF file and email it to us right now. Be sure to put name of dog in subject line and include your name, contact info in body of message along with an introduction to yourself, your pets, and your household members.
We are 100% volunteer non-profit rescue. There is a lot more involved in rescue than most people think… We do our best try to reply to emails within 2-3 days. Please be patient but feel free to follow up in a few days of submitting application to be sure we received it.
Since so many have emailed to ask, No, We do not do shelter to adopter direct adoptions. None of our adopters are permitted to go pickup their dog off a southern transport, It is our belief that foster first is the best way to assure dogs can put best paw forward in their new home and are properly placed.
